Whether I’m making pancakes for breakfast or Cheeseburger Quesadillas for dinner, I love using my ceramic cookware to get the job done. Ceramic cookware is great for cooking all kinds of dishes because its nontoxic, non-stick coating prevents even the stickiest of foods from staying put, which also means it’s super easy to clean up once you’re finished.

Each piece is also oven- and broiler-safe up to 600 degrees F.

When it comes to aesthetics, the look of these pots and pans is timeless (just look at those gold handles!) and they’re a dream to cook with. As an added bonus, you can use metal utensils with them, though the brand recommends sticking to silicone or wood.

Other Ceramic Cookware Sets to Consider

Caraway Nonstick Ceramic Cookware Set

This ceramic cookware set from Caraway is another popular choice. This cookware collection has everything you need to whip up dinner, and it’s easy to clean and beautifully designed. The set even comes in a variety of colors like neutral cream, mustard yellow, and trendy sage! The pieces are oven-safe up to 550 degrees F and the set includes a Dutch oven. However, it is quite pricey and reviewers note that the color tends to fade and scratch over time. The Caraway Nonstick Ceramic Cookware Set is available at Amazon for $395.

GreenPan Paris Pro Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick

This ceramic cookware set by GreenPan isn’t as colorful as the others on this list, but it’s affordable and super easy to cook with! The set includes 8-, 9.5- and 11-inch fry pans, 1.5- and 3-quart saucepans with lids, a 3-quart sauté pan with lid, and a 5.5-quart stockpot with lid. The ceramic cookware in this set is oven-safe up to 600 degrees F and is dishwasher-safe. That being said, I’m just a bigger fan of the brand’s GP5 set thanks to the look and nicer construction. The GreenPan Paris Pro Hard Anodized Healthy Ceramic Nonstick is available at Amazon for $168.

Amazon Basics Ceramic Non-Stick 12-Piece Cookware Set

If you’re looking for a reliable ceramic cookware set for your first home or a rental property, this affordable set from Amazon is a decent option. The set includes 8- and 10-inch skillets, a 1.5- and a 3-quart saucepan with lid, a 3-quart sauté pan with lid, a 6-quart casserole with lid, a solid spoon, and a slotted spatula. The ceramic pots and pans in this set are easy to cook with thanks to the non-stick coating, but they’re only safe up to 350°F in the oven and you can’t use metal utensils when cooking with them. The Amazon Basics Ceramic Non-Stick 12-Piece Cookware Set is available at Amazon for $100.18.

Why You Can Trust Us

Hi! I’m Madison and I’ve worked in food media for the better part of a decade. Everything to Know Before Buying Ceramic Cookware

What to Consider Before Buying Ceramic Cookware

Here are a few factors to consider before buying ceramic cookware:

Material: All of the ceramic cookware sets in this list are compatible with electric, gas, and induction cooktops, but if you decide to go rogue and find your own set, you’ll want to be sure it’s compatible with your cooktop. Material is also important because you’ll want to make sure your ceramic cookware is PFOA-free — PFOAs are harmful chemicals that are found in many non-stick coatings, so they’re something to avoid. Everything on this list is PFOA-free!

Number in set: Some cookware sets come with more than others. Before buying one assess how many pots and pans you ideally need (and have room for!) and decide which option is best for you. If you’re building out your existing cookware collection, you may want to buy individual ceramic pots, ceramic skillets, or ceramic pans from the brands above.

Cooking needs: What sort of food do you cook? If you make a lot of dishes that start on the stovetop and finish cooking in the oven, you’ll want ceramic cookware that’s oven-safe at high temperatures. If you steam a lot of vegetables or make heaps of pasta, you may want a set that comes with a steamer basket and colander.

Is Ceramic Cookware Safe?

Ceramic cookware is safe as long as its non-stick coating is free from harmful chemicals known as PFOAs or “forever chemicals.” Trusted brands like the ones] listed above all make safe ceramic cookware that’s PFOA-free. According to Meggan, “ceramic cookware should contain none of these non-stick chemicals so you can cook without worry and just focus on the food you love.”

Is Ceramic Cookware Better Than Stainless Steel?

Ceramic cookware and stainless steel cookware both have their advantages, so it really depends on personal preference. Ceramic cookware tends to be great for beginners because its non-stick coating keeps food from sticking and it tends to be significantly cheaper than stainless steel. Ceramic cookware is also usually available in a range of fun colors, which could be a plus if you like matching your cookware to your kitchen decor.

Stainless steel cookware tends to last longer than ceramic cookware (that non-stick coating will eventually wear off and you’ll need to replace those pieces). However, it’s also more difficult to master cooking in stainless steel cookware without food sticking to the bottoms. Professional chefs and restaurant chefs almost exclusively use stainless steel cookware — but this doesn’t mean it’s better or that you have to!

What Are the Pros and Cons of Ceramic Cookware?

Every type of cookware has its pros and cons, so it’s important to know what you’re getting into before you commit to a new cookware set. Here’s what you need to know for ceramic cookware:

Pros:

  • Non-stick coating keeps food from sticking
  • Easy to clean
  • Compatible with gas, electric, and induction cooktops
  • Usually available  in a range of fun colors

Cons:

  • Non-stick coating will eventually wear off
  • Not as durable as other types of cookware

How Do You Clean Ceramic Cookware?

To clean your ceramic cookware, simply let it cool completely and then wash it with soap, warm water, and a non-abrasive sponge. Some options on my list are dishwasher-safe, but this may make the non-stick coating wear off faster.
