New mothers, non-drinkers, and anyone celebrating will appreciate a New Mother Mocktail served in a beautiful glass with lots of crushed ice. A blend of three different fruit juices makes sure every sip tastes special.
Unlike my Pink Lemonade Vodka Slush, Mojito cocktail, or Pirate Punch, this drink is alcohol-free. I first learned about this fruity concoction while in the hospital. I had just given birth to my son, so I was exhausted and elated. The wonderful nurses who were taking care of me offered me what they referred to as a โcocktail.โ
At parties, brunches, or other special events, itโs easy to overlook pregnant ladies or those who donโt drink the stronger stuff. But everyone needs something festive and pretty to sip on at gatherings, and take it from me: itโs nice to be taken care of.

How to make New Mother Mocktail:
It canโt be any simpler. All you have to do is blend equal parts cranberry, apple, and orange juice together in a pitcher or punchbowl.
Then find your frilliest glasses and fill them up with crushed ice. The ice chips make the juice super cold and delicious.
Garnish with the fruit of your choice.
Other tantalizing fruit juice combinations:
Today thereโs a remarkable selection of fancy juices out there, so the opportunities for experimentation are almost endless.
Goya brand makes frozen passion fruit, guava, and other fruit purรฉes that might be perfect candidates for switching things upโฆwhat sounds good to put on the menu at your own cocktail bar?
Play around with some and figure out what fruit flavors go together best!
Maybe:
- Grapefruit juice, pomegranate juice, lime juice
- Orange juice, mango juice, and cranberry juice
- Grape juice, cranberry juice, and pear juice
- Passion fruit juice, coconut juice, and lime juiceโsort of a twist on a mocktail Pina colada!
- Pomegranate juice, watermelon juice, lime juiceโinspired by a cocktail Cosmopolitan
- Pineapple juice, pear juice, and pomegranate juice
- Raspberry juice, blueberry juice, cranberry juice.
How to make a lower-sugar version of the drink:
If youโre being careful with your sugar intake, you can make a fruit spritzer using sparking or soda water. Pour the glass half full with juice, and top off with fizzy water.
Of course, I wouldnโt stop you from using your favorite flavor of soda water to make the drink even more interesting!
Fresh squeezed orange juice or from concentrate?
I certainly didnโt get fresh-squeezed juice in the hospital, and it still tasted incredible. But I also would never say no to using freshly squeezed orange juiceโฆ.Itโs up to you.

Hi there! I came across this older post and I just LOVE the glassware and pitcher. Iโve been looking for something exactly like it. Did they come as a set? Might they still be available?
Hi there Lucy, they are not a set but I found the pitcher for you! I’m still looking for the glasses. Hope this helps! Here’s the link: https://www.worldmarket.com/product/glass-carafe.do?sortby=ourPicks&from=Search

Well, now I have plenty of ideas of what to bring to my New Years party Iโm attending! These look great, thank you!
So funny! I just saw this scrolling through FB and it reminded me of when I had my daughter 4 years ago when we lived in Valencia. I’m thinking we might have used the same hospital. I had SO much of this juice. It is so good! Saving this to try it ๐
Love it! Right after delivery, the nurses gave me a celebratory sparkling drink that was amazing. I guzzled it down and then guzzled down my husband’s cup, too! I called it “the sugar drink” and I went crazy for it. I’ve been craving something sweet to drink while nursing recently and this looks perfect.
Such a great story Sarah! We got a sparkling drink with our “celebratory dinner” which was a “fancy” hospital meal that I got right before they let me out. It was some kind of heavy ravioli dish with the richest cream sauce I’ve ever had in my life, but I LOVED it. I ordered the same thing with both babies! My favorite part about having babies is sitting in the hospital room with a menu and ordering all.the.food. ๐ I nursed both my babies until about 16 months, glad to hear it’s working for you too.
